My 2017 F350’s transmission went from a faulty valve body I installed and decided it needs to go to a transmission shop. We looked up A1 transmission called late at night and Joe picked up explained in great detail and with loads of knowledge about what my transmission will need. He got me in the next day and even came with a tow truck to pick it up. Joe had my truck back to me a week later. My F350 shifts better than it ever has. He recommended upgrading the torque converter for the extra power my F350 is pushing and recommended kevlar disks. My whole experience with A1 transmission and Daytona auto repair was amazing. Joe was extremely transparent and great with communication. Joe is even writing something up and helping me with the faulty remanufactured valve body I purchased from a 3 party company. I highly recommend A1 Transmission and Daytona auto repair.

Our key was not in lockbox. I called around 9 pm and owner answered. We checked second lockbox with him on the phone with us which also did not have the key. Owner volunteered and drove to shop on a rainy night to get our key. While their mixup the owner’s customer service turned the situation into a positive experience.

The best experience I could have imagined to the worst problem I could have expected. My barely used truck broke down, the dealership was of zero help, my regular mechanic ran a check and discovered a transmission code. I have a warranty through an after market service and was looking for a repair shop that has the experience required to get a successful resolution as the horror stories abound with wasted efforts! Fortunately I found Daytona Auto Repair. Joe explained that I should review the language in my service contact so I could better determine my path forward. I received his estimate and what he thought the warranty company would provide in response. Joe informed me they would opt for the less expensive used transmission verses the cost to rebuild with new parts! Exactly what they did! Having this info provided me the knowledge to expedite the repairs without the lengthy delays I would otherwise have incurred. No I didn’t get 100% coverage but wasn’t expecting to. What I did get was an excellent job in a timely basis with a cost predicted almost to the penny! I never have a problem with Joe and staff. I took my car to another place to fix my shifter cables due to proximity and TIME constraints. They got everything to go back in gear EXCEPT reverse (no matter how hard they tried). I dealt with that for almost 9 months then it broke loose again. This time I took it back to Joe (being as that 5yrs ago he'd fixed this problem before) and I was not disappointed one bit. Joe is very good and usually VERY busy, but he still takes the time to get my vehicle done in a timely matter. Lesson learned: Joe and staff took care of me, and even REPAIRED the screw up the other place did, which solved the lack of reverse engagement. THAT is what I call COMMITMENT, and great customer service. A-1 Daytona Auto Repair has been my place for over a decade and will continue to do so. I took my Acura here to Joe as it started shifting hard, and being on vacation, I really wanted to be able to get home when planned. Long story short, I took it to Joe thinking I needed a rebuild, he took it in looked at it, drove it, ran diagnostics, and told me I had an issue with the ABS module that was causing it to shift hard. He very easily could have dropped the transmission and rebuilt it and charged me for something I didn't need. But I feel Joe was very straightforward and honest. Good to see that honesty in the business world.

I originally went to Aamco because I was told over the phone they could diagnose my vehicle for free, when I arrived they told me they could look at it but a diagnosis would cost 90 dollars. I mean 90 dollars just to tell me what is wrong is crazy. I called Daytona Auto Repair they said a diagnosis would not be a problem, in under 10 mins they figured out the problem a part was ordered and 4-5 hours later my car was ready to go. They were even nice enough to provide me with a lift to and from my home. Joe is a great mechanic and a great help he was a life saver and right before Thanksgiving also. This place is Awesome, I am an totally going to go back to this place in the future!

I was very leary when I took my van there as I used to work in the auto repair business myself and know firsthand the tricks they like to pull but I must say these guys seem to be very honest and very professional. We got it to them on Monday morning without an appointment and they fixed it by 3:30. Told us it could be as low as $560 or as high as $1,595. It ended up being $560. They treat customers the way they used to be treated years ago. Very friendly and attentive.

The entire staff including the owner went above and beyond to ensure I did not buy a flipped/scam '99 BMW. They knew I was planning to drive it home to NC **IF** I purchased it. They knew I was due to arrive w/ luggage. They took pictures in case the seller insisted on retrieving his car so I would see the evidence. The seller was a liar, insisting that was not oil leaking as we all watched it drip while on the hoist. Those bad people are out there. IF IT WEREN'T FOR DAYTONA AUTO REPAIR, I could have been stuck on 95. The seller sure knew this was my fate had I purchased the BMW. DAR knew it too and did everything they could to prevent it including holding the seller off as long as possible in hopes my delayed flight would make it in time.
